About the boutique

Hydrangea of Clifton is a gift and home boutique located in a century old house in the Historic Town of Clifton Virginia.

Hydrangea of Clifton opened in November of 2013 to a warm welcome from the Clifton community, many of whom remember proprietor Jennifer Heilmann from her  previous boutique , Baskets & Boughs, which was in the same location from 1996-2007.

Jennifer and her husband did an extensive renovation on the building in 2013, converting it into a residence for themselves with a boutique in the front.

Although the shop is only 450 Square feet it is packed with wonderful gifts and home décor accents.  Jennifer has a keen eye for the unique and charming accents for your home and that special gift that you will always be proud to give.  Gift wrapping is complimentary.

Jennifer sources a lot of her merchandise from small independently owned American companies, especially those that are environmentally conscious.

About the town

Located  less than thirty miles south of Washington, D.C., the Town of Clifton is a charming small historic railroad town dating back to the Civil War era, and is still surrounded by country roads, rolling hills and horse pastures.

Along with several other shops, there are good restaurants in town, a cupcake shop, an ice cream stand and a few miles up the road there is a winery.

Many of the houses have historical markers with the building’s history on them which makes for an interesting stroll around the town.
